Severnaya Milya, a major supplier to the shipbuilding industry in St. Petersburg, has found itself in bankruptcy proceedings. The Arbitration Court began to consider this case, which attracted the attention of the market after the inclusion of a number of significant players in this field in the register of claims of the first creditors.

At the moment, the total amount of financial claims has reached 75.7 million rubles, submitted by six companies. Two more applications are under consideration. The production materials also include the amount of 107.2 million rubles, which the company itself recognized as a debt. The process was initiated about five months ago, and three months ago the monitoring stage was introduced in relation to the company.

Among the creditors are enterprises affiliated with the United Shipbuilding Corporation, including the Kaliningrad plant and the ship repair center from Severodvinsk. The largest demand – 45.6 million rubles – was made by the St. Petersburg machine-building enterprise.

The company, which for many years specialized in the supply of components for frigates and equipment for fishing vessels, worked with leading shipyards in the country. The controlling stake (90.91%) belongs to its founder Sergey Gudkov. According to him, the crisis is caused by long-term non-payments on the part of counterparties. He also said that after his refusal to sell the production machines to one of the factories, pressure began to be exerted on the company, which became the trigger for financial difficulties.

The situation is complicated by the presence of another organization with a similar name operating in the same field – the supply of ship and berthing equipment. She rents adjacent premises, is not herself a participant in the lawsuit, however, due to common business ties, she also experiences serious operational difficulties. The business owner has already sent appeals to law enforcement and supervisory authorities.

Lawyers draw attention to a significant risk: if the court establishes the interdependence of these legal entities and the personal responsibility of the owner, then the financial obligations of one company may be extended to another. Counterparties are advised to closely monitor the development of the situation.

Both companies are officially registered at the same address on Korabelnaya Street. By the end of 2024, the turnover of the bankrupt company amounted to 78.4 million rubles, while the revenue of the second organization was 11.2 million rubles.
