A company from a high-profile tax case has initiated its own bankruptcy
TTK-Yekaterinburg, which found itself at the center of an investigation into criminal VAT refunds, declared its own insolvency. Information about the document submitted to the Sverdlovsk Arbitration (ASSO) on July 8 was recorded in the judicial file.

The organization gained notoriety after its head, Alexei Shakhmaev, was put under criminal investigation the year before last. The owner of the company "Shudya" Petrov and the ex-daughter-in-law of the ex-mayor of Yekaterinburg Chernetsky were also among those detained at that time. They were detained after large-scale events held at the Clever Park business Center.

Investigators believe that the participants in the scheme submitted reports with false data to the tax authorities, acquiring the rights to illegal VAT deductions for large amounts. It was about the scale of up to one billion rubles.

Subsequently, other well-known defendants were involved in the case: the former head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Dyakov, the former head of the regional Federal Tax Service Loginov and others, including representatives of the legal community.

The investigation believes that the defendants organized a system that allowed fictitious data to be entered into the reports, which made it possible to repeatedly refund VAT on fictitious transactions. At the same time, a significant part of the suspects are now hiding from justice.

Despite the high-profile criminal proceedings, Shakhmaev was later released from custody. However, the business structures associated with him began to experience serious financial difficulties.

TTK-Yekaterinburg was one of the first participants in the scandal to officially apply to arbitration for insolvency. The reasons for the lawsuit, in addition to the known criminal aspects, have not yet been reported. The trial date has not yet been set.
