The Agency for the Strategic Initiatives proposed the relevant initiative. As part of the idea, it was offered to increase the pensions and salaries of the state employees by 5-10%, so that the population had funds to purchase the products and services.
The ASI’s CEO, Svetlana Chupsheva, sent a letter to the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. It is noted in the text that 0.5-1 trillion rubles will be required to raise the pensions and salaries, but the investments will be beneficial - this will improve the level of trade and increase a demand for the goods and services. The authors of the initiative believe that supporting solvency will minimize the loss of GDP growth. moreover, this mechanism has proven itself in developed countries.
The representatives of the ASI did not forget about the students, recalling that due to the coronavirus, about 70 thousand students may be left without work (due to the fact that the most of them work in the service sector). The authors of the letter called for creating the jobs in the universities - according to the calculations, 10% of students can get positions in educational institutions.
It was also proposed to implement the student subsidies for the projects in IT and social fields – the amount of the subsidies is up to 150 thousand rubles.
