TURKEY MAY OPEN THE BORDERS FOR RUSSIANS ON 15 JULY

The Minister of Transport Yevgeny Dietrich stated that the authorities were considering the possibility of restoration of air links between Russia and Turkey from 15 July.

For the moment, the decision is still under consideration. The Minister also noted that the opening of the borders between Russia and the CIS could happen earlier than with other countries. Earlier, the Russian Aviation Administration took a similar initiative, saying that it was better to start restoring air connections from the CIS countries. But the opening of borders with other countries should be considered individually and depend on the coronavirus situation in each particular state.

The Minister of Transport supports this idea, noting that flights to the CIS countries are "not quite international."

It is known that the proposal has already been sent for consideration to the operational headquarters.

Russia stopped air communication with other countries on 27 March, but recently, some citizens have been allowed to travel abroad. This applies to those who work in other countries, study, receive treatment or take care of ill relatives. There are many rumors about the full opening of borders, but so far there are no specifics.

Earlier, the European Union refused to accept Russians, noting that a high incidence rate still remains in the country. According to experts, to change the situation, Russia must leave the “red” zone of the coronavirus incidence rate.

P.S .: The Ministry of Transport made an official comment, noting that the proposal to resume flights with Turkey from 15 July was made, but in reality, it has not yet been considered. It is premature to talk about the terms, as everything will depend on the epidemiological situation.
