THRASH STREAMS CAN BECOME CRIMINALLY PUNISHABLE ACT

The day before, it became known about the intention to introduce criminal liability for "trash streams". A member of the Federation Council Aleksey Pushkov came up with a corresponding initiative and proposed the establishment of punishment up to imprisonment.

On the initiative of the parliamentarian, Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for inciting hatred and enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity, can be expanded.

The new rule may establish punishment for "trash streams" that contain elements of violence, threats to health and facts of humiliation of human dignity.

Among the proposed penalties, there are fines and community service, as well as real terms of imprisonment ranging from 3 to 6 years. The senator also noted that in case there is a murder, the punishment may be even harsher. Pushkov did not rule out the possibility of a new draft law on "trash streams", the discussion of which is still to come.

The "trash streams" received a public outcry after the situation that occurred in early December last year. Then Reeflay blogger during the broadcast pushed a girl without outerwear out to the cold and found her dead a few hours later. At first the blogger thought that she was alive and talked to her while broadcasting. The situation ended with the arrival of the police and doctors, the latter pronounced death. According to some reports, the girl was pregnant.
