THE TERM “PRESIDENT” IS PROPOSED TO BE REPLACED BY “SUPREME GOVERNOR”
For the moment, a working group is actively discussing the amends to the Constitution - there are more than enough proposals, but some of them sound pretty funny. For example, it was proposed to rename the president to the supreme ruler of the Russian Federation.

In general, more than one hundred amendments are planned to be introduced into the Constitution. If we discard the option of “supreme ruler”, there are still a lot of interesting things: assigning of the status of a winner in World War II to Russia at the constitutional level or recognizing the Orthodoxy as the main religion in the country. If we return to the “supreme ruler”, it was proposed not only to rename the status of the president, but also to write this phrase with a capital letter - the Supreme ruler. It remains of something from the” Star Wars” saga. But we should note that this is just an initiative.

The term "supreme ruler" was commented on by the presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He noted that for the moment everything is happening in the format of the discussion and the initiative to rename the post is completely new and that "the president does not think anything about this."

As for the amendments, which with a high degree of probability will actually be adopted, this is the establishment of the priority of the Constitution over international law. This proposal came from the president Vladimir Putin. The president also proposed to consolidate the status of the State Council. Many analysts suggest that after the end of his presidency, Putin will become the head of the State Council and, thus, be able to remain in power.

The second reading of the amendments to the Constitution will be held on February 11. A popular vote for amendments is also planned - it should be held in April.
