Senator Andrey Kutepov came up with an initiative to change the maximum income indicator for the recognition of an entrepreneur as a SME.  We are talking about both the category of small and medium-sized businesses and micro-enterprises. The maximum threshold for inclusion in the respective category may soon be increased for each of them.

The reason for the introduction of the new indicators was inflation and the general rise in prices.

The last time the income limit was set five years ago, and since that time, there have been no changes in the thresholds, said Kutepov. Due to this, the official came up with the idea of   changing the legislation.

Among the proposed changes, there are:

- for micro-enterprises, the maximum amount of income increases to 170 million rubles;

- for small ones - up to 870 million rubles;

- for medium enterprises - up to 3.5 billion rubles, reports TASS.

Separately, Kutepov noted that the proposed amounts are in line with the existing norms of the European Commission, which regulate the status of pan-European SMEs.
