THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE FEDERAL SERVICE FOR SUPERVISION OF CONSUMERS PROTECTION PROPOSED TO WEAR FACE MASKS ON A CONTINUING BASIS
The representative of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection Tatyana Ruzhentsova stated that the face masks wearing should be compulsory in the public places, especially at the times of the likelihood of contracting airborne infections.
Tatyana Ruzhentsova, the head of the clinical research department of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection, said that the mask regime should be maintained not only during the coronavirus pandemic, as it prevents the spread of diseases.
“They have to be worn while there is a risk of any infection, not only coronavirus,” explained Ruzhentsova.
Ruzhentsova told TASS that the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza would again increase in the country in the fall, and therefore we should not wait for a specific date for the abolition of the mask regime in the country.
She also recalled that masks should be worn during the contact with any patients with airborne infections, as well as while staying in the crowded places.
