The Ministry of Justice proposed to employ convicts at individual enterprises
The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has developed a draft law that allows individual entrepreneurs to hire convicts.  We are talking about the positions of not only janitors, porters and handymen, but also cooks, hairdressers and drivers with the appropriate education.

The document establishes the possibility for persons sentenced to compulsory work to serve their sentence by employment at individual enterprises.

Before that, this category of employers was unavailable.

According to a report published on the official website of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the bill was developed within the framework of the humanization of the criminal-executive legislation.  The document will make it possible to attract convicts to work in companies of any organizational and legal form (OLF), as well as among individual entrepreneurs.

At the moment, the provisions of the Criminal Executive Code make it possible to attract convicts to work in companies, regardless of their OLF, which means that the work for individual entrepreneurs will become an innovation.

The amendments to the legislation were dictated by life: according to the Federal Penitentiary Service, individual entrepreneurs come up with proposals of employment for convicts, reports TASS.

If the law is passed, this possibility will become real.
