THE MINIMUM HOURLY WAGE MIGHT BE INTRODUCED IN RUSSIA

The representatives of the LDPR party prepared a draft law, according to which as of 1 January, 2021, the minimum hourly wage should be introduced in the country. It is estimated that the minimum wage will be 150 rubles per hour.

According to RIA Novosti, this amount is intended for people who carry out their activities as a part-time under the fixed-term contracts. The authors of the initiative believe that for the moment, the minimum hourly wage is too low - it drops down to 65 rubles.

The explanatory note, attached to the draft law, states that the employers behave in bad faith. They reduce salaries to the extremely low, unacceptable level and establish “so-called” reduced working hours. At the same time, they receive high wages, and try to avoid paying taxes and social contributions as well.

The authors of the document are sure that their idea will help to increase the incomes of Russians and raise the standard of living to the industrialized countries. They also noted that the hourly wages should be indexed once a year.
