Information according to which Vladimir Putin instructed the government to work on the increase of the minimum amount of unemployment allowances appeared on the official website of Kremlin.
The order was given as part of a meeting on the situation on the labor market. Thus, from1 May 2020, the minimum allowance should be increased to 4,500 rubles - the measure will be valid for three months. Putin also instructed to extend (renew) the benefits for unemployed Russians whose payout period ended after 1 March and for the entrepreneurs whose businesses were closed after this date. Payments will be extended until October 1 2020.
When it comes to the parents and guardians who lost their jobs, they would receive 3,000 rubles for every underage child.
We should note that according to official the statistics, 450 thousand Russians have received benefits since March, while more than 2 million people are on the labor exchange.
However, the founder of superjob.ru, Alexei Zakharov, did not agree with official information, saying that at least 10 million able-bodied citizens are unemployed in Russia.
