THE AIR CARRIERS WILL NOT REFUND MONEY FOR THE TICKETS
Previously, the air carriers turned to the government with a request to legalize the vouchers that would be an alternative to the refund of money for the purchased tickets. Now it has become known that the authorities are really considering this idea.
According to “Kommersant”, the vouchers may be applied not only to the air carriers, but also to the rail and water transport. The money of passengers will be transferred to their personal account, from which they will be able to buy a new ticket only. It is expected that the draft law will be considered in May.
We should recall that earlier “Aeroflot” complained about hundreds of canceled flights - the company, like many others, was drowned in the ticket refunds, not having an opportunity to make new profits. “Aeroflot” proposed to issue the vouchers for a period of three years, adding a discount for future buying of the tickets.
It became known that Russian Railways do not approve of the idea of the money refunds as well, not to mention the river cruise companies which were selling the tickets for the summer season in advance. How will the draft law on the vouchers look like, will be known in the nearest future.
