SINGLE MOTHERS WILL RECEIVE A NEW PARENTING ALLOWANCE
The State Duma and the government received an initiative from the National Parents' Committee, proposing a new temporary type of allowance for single mothers and fathers.
NRC noted that the proposal is related to the pandemic - because of the difficult economic situation, single parents found themselves in a difficult situation. According to the committee, despite a one-time payment of 10,000 rubles for each child from 3 to 16 years old, this group remains unprotected and needs additional support.
In the document, the representatives of NRC asked the deputies to provide mothers / single fathers with compensation in the amount of at least two living wages for each family member.
It is assumed that the allowance should be paid monthly before the end of the year and without cancellation of other benefits.
We should recall that in addition to the payments of 10,000 rubles, the state introduced other measures. For example, a monthly allowance of 5,000 rubles was paid to the families with children under 3 years of age from April to June. Low-income families were able to receive benefits for children from 3 to 7 years old from June 2020.
