RUSSIANS WILL BE FORBIDDEN TO KEEP MANY CATS AND DOGS IN APARTMENTS
It became known that the Ministry of Agriculture is preparing a bill to limit the number of pets in apartments. The punishment for violation will be up to criminal liability.
According to Ura.ru, Kirill Cherkasov, a spokesman for the State Duma on ecology and environmental protection, announced a possible innovation. The official noted that it is necessary to register the maximum allowable number of pets per square meter. If the housing belongs to more than one person, then you need to take into account how many square meters belong to the owner of the animals.
If pets from the ‘unauthorized’ list attack or harm human health, criminal liability is assumed.
Similar restrictions are planned to be introduced for private houses. Cherkasov noted that there were examples when 200 rabbits or 1000 quails lived on plots - the smell and noise disturb the neighbors. The official stressed out that these issues need to be resolved.
Kirill Cherkasov also added that the preparation of the regulatory framework for keeping animals should have been completed by April 15, but this did not happen.
Earlier, the Federation Council proposed to fine people who throw animals out into the streets. And in April 2021, deputies banned the seizure of pets for debt.
