RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT WILL PROVIDE CITIZENS UNDER 35 WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY AT UNIVERSITIES FOR FREE
The State Duma received a bill according to which citizens under 35 can count on state-funded places at universities. This is due to the increase in the age of young people up to 35 years.
According to Izvestia, the deputy Maxim Zaitsev was the initiator of the project. He noted that according to the new norms, the number of budget places should be increased by 1 million. This figure is taken from the calculation of 800 students per 10 thousand people.
The implementation of the initiative will require almost 100 billion rubles from the budget.
Each budgetary place costs the state 100 thousand rubles a year, and the indicated figure was multiplied by Zaitsev by 1 million prospective new students. It was noted that the initiative has already received support from the majority of parties in the State Duma. The idea is quite logical, given the change in the age of young people - now the category includes people from 14 to 35 years old.
If the bill is adopted, the amendments will be made to the Federal Law "On Education". Now citizens from 17 to 30 years old can count on state-funded places.
