RUSSIAN GAMBLERS HAVE BEEN PROPOSED TO ADD THEMSELVES TO THE BLACK LISTS OF BOOKMEKERS

According to RBC, the Russian Bar Association announced the approval of the initiative at a meeting of the subcommittee on the improvement of the control authorities. Players will be able to put themselves on the blacklist on their own if they decide not to participate in such activities anymore - by voluntary application.

People will also be added to the list by the court order.

The legal representatives of the ‘player’ - trustees or guardians, will be able to appeal to justice. This will become possible after the citizen is recognized as incapacitated or partially incapacitated.

The Association recalled that limitation of legal capacity does not result in deprivation of all rights for a person, but establishes control over his expenses. The court can make such a decision if it finds out that due to the addictions of an individual (alcoholic, drug, gambling) his family is in a difficult financial situation.

In 2020, 837 people were recognized as having limited legal capacity in Russia.

If the player decided to add himself to the stop list independently, then he will be able to be excluded from it at least in a year.

It was noted that the bill was prepared by the Ministry of Finance and was supported by the Federal Tax Service and the Ministry of Economic Development.
