RESTRICTIONS IN MOSCOW MIGHT BE LIFTED BY MID-2021

The deputy mayor of the capital, Vladimir Efimov, said that the Moscow economy would most likely begin to recover in the middle of next year, at which time most of the restrictions will be lifted.

Efimov also added that the introduction of additional restrictions for the New Year was not planned - so far, the measures that have been introduced before are sufficient. The Deputy Mayor of Moscow also noted the fact that, despite anti-epidemiological measures, a number of companies still reached standard indicators. According to him, catering lagged behind last year's figures by 10-15%.

There are more seriously damaged industries - the companies associated with tourism and cultural events have lost 60% of the previous year’s profit.

It is worth noting that St. Petersburg, unlike Moscow, has already announced the introduction of additional measures before the New Year holidays. Children's performances will be canceled in the northern capital, zoos and exhibitions will be closed, the working hours of restaurants will be limited - in order to reduce the number of potential tourists, who are not welcome this year. The vice-governor of St. Petersburg, Yevgeny Yelin, also said that one of the reasons for the strengthening of measures was Basta's concerts, which gathered thousands of people without masks.

On December 5, vaccination against coronavirus will start in Moscow - first of all, doctors, teachers and social workers will be vaccinated. The citizens of Moscow will be vaccinated with the Sputnik V vaccine.
