REPRESENTATIVES OF A JUST RUSSIA PARTY PROPOSED TO CREATE A ZOO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Within the framework of a roundtable discussion of an issue of homeless animals, the head of A Just Russia party, Sergei Mironov, said that it was necessary to create a special police department to deal with problems of animal protection.
Mironov said that his party would be engaged in the creation of a bill that will be able to supplement the law "On Police". He noted that mandatory norms on the responsible treatment of animals had recently appeared in Russia, and therefore it was necessary to create a special police department that will control all this.
It is assumed that, first of all, the animal protection police will fight the animal abusers.
Mironov also recalled the fact that A Just Russia party was an ardent supporter of the adoption of the law on the responsible treatment of animals. The deputy also stressed out that it was necessary to fight the abusers, since today they "torture the cat", but tomorrow they may move on to more serious crimes.
Earlier, the representative of the Federation Council Alexander Bashkin came up with an initiative, according to which all pets must be chipped. He noted that the measure was necessary, since unscrupulous owners often leave pets in the street, and by the chips, violators of the order can be found. What is more, the parliamentarian advocated the introduction of fines for Russians leaving pets in the streets.
