PUTIN SEEKS TO CREATE NEW INTERNATIONAL SONG CONTEST
PUTIN SEEKS TO CREATE NEW INTERNATIONAL SONG CONTEST
Vladimir Putin instructed officials to work out the proposals for the creation of an international song contest in Russia. A necessary aspect of its implementation should be the condition for the execution of Russian-language texts.
Initially, the idea of holding such an event was announced in March this year by pianist Oleg Akkuratov. During a meeting with the President, the artist noticed that often music contests are held for songs in English. In this vein, they put forward the assumption that Russian-language song contests may not be enough in the current situation.
In response, Putin noted that the initiative seemed important to him, and promised to think about the proposal.
Now the voiced idea has taken on a documentary form. A list of presidential orders, including the submission of proposals by October 1, 2021, for the establishment of an international song contest for songs performed in Russian, has appeared on the website of Kremlin.
The President also instructed officials to include in the plan of events to celebrate the bicentennial of the birth of F.M. Dostoevsky and production of ‘The Idiot’ ballet and to strengthen both the material and technical base and staffing of the wind departments of children's music schools.
