ONLY STUDENTS VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 MIGHT BE ADMITTED TO MOSCOW UNIVERSITIES
The Moscow Council of Rectors of Universities came up with an initiative to admit to full-time classes only those students who have been vaccinated. However, it is assumed that a certificate of the presence of antibodies will be sufficient.

According to TASS, if vaccination is contraindicated for students, universities will also accept documents on contraindications for admission to classes. All others will only be able to study online.

The new format can be introduced at universities from September 1, 2021.

Classes will be of a hybrid nature - full-time for vaccinated and other admitted groups, and distance for everyone else. At the same time, educational institutions note that the format of distance learning has already been developed and allows providing students with a high level of education.

The Council of Rectors clarified that the right to education for Russians is constitutional, but it should not violate the right to protect the health of other people. The universities also plan to conduct explanatory work on the necessity of vaccinations and refutation of myths about the consequences of vaccination.

What is more, higher education institutions intend to vaccinate 60% of employees by August 15, 2021. It is planned to abolish the guest regime in hostels, increase social distance, observe the necessary preventive measures, and actively conduct an information campaign.

Universities recommend canceling summer conferences, graduation ceremonies and public events.

It is known that the main graduation ceremony held in Gorky Park has already been canceled in Moscow.
