NEW APPARTMENT RENT TAX WILL BE INTRODUCED IN RUSSIA

It became known that the Ministry of Construction is about to introduce a draft law that will control the real estate renting. At the moment, almost 90% of participants in the real estate renting market do not pay taxes to the treasury.

According to Izvestia newspaper, the draft law will be submitted to the State Duma by the end of the year - it will allow the rental market to be removed from the gray zone. The deputies believe that this will also help reduce the crime rate – real estate renting is one of the favorite areas of scammers.

It is planned to launch an information system that will allow recording lease agreements.

There is a possibility that the draft law will include a section on administrative liability for failure to provide information on rent, as this is tax evasion.

Market experts have already commented on the situation, noting that the introduction of taxes will increase the cost of rental housing. Moreover, the price can rise by more than 13% (the standard tax rate for a landlord).

The draft law is still being discussed, but it is highly likely that in the future it will be adopted due to the obvious benefit of the state against the background of lost taxes. The law already controls the area of ​​"rental apartments", but so far there are very few examples of such housing.
