NEEDY RUSSIANS WILL RECEIVE MONEY FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOOD

According to Izvestia newspaper, the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent a report on the initiative to the government in December 2020. First of all, we are talking about the feasible support of children, pregnant and nursing Russian women, as well as those who are in boarding schools and hospitals.

The support measure is money transferred monthly - you can spend it on healthy domestic food products.

Help is intended to be targeted. It was also noted that the initiative had already been discussed earlier, but before the officials considered the introduction of consumer certificates.

In 2014, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has already come forward with the idea of ​​helping citizens in need. The department proposed to introduce food ration cards. Russian citizens, whose income does not reach the subsistence level, could receive special cards, to which a certain amount of money would be transferred every month. Moreover, money could be spent only on Russian-made products from the basic set: vegetables, meat, milk, etc.

According to data of 2015, 16 million Russians needed this kind of support (240 billion rubles of budgetary funds), and in 2018, support was already required for 19 million Russians. However, the idea of ​​the Ministry of Industry and Trade was blocked, since the treasury could not allocate such amounts until 2021.
