NEEDY CITIZENS OF RUSSIA MIGHT RECEIVE A 10,000 RUBLES BENEFIT BY THE NEW YEAR
The head of A Just Russia party, Sergei Mironov, proposed an initiative the most vulnerable categories of population with state benefits. He noted that the measures can be implemented by analogy with payments for families with children this summer.
It was proposed to determine the size of the monetary benefit at 10 thousand rubles, making it a one-time payment.
It is assumed that the disabled, lonely pensioners, as well as large and low-income families should receive state support. According to Sergei Mironov, the situation with the spread of the coronavirus, as well as the economic crisis that has arisen, has affected all sectors of society, but the most unprotected categories of the population had the hardest time.
The deputy believes that due to the difficult financial situation, some citizens this year may be left without a festive table on the New Year's Eve - that is why, according to Mironov, payments are necessary.
What is more, the deputy noted that assistance may be especially relevant for pensioners who are currently in a situation of forced self-isolation.
If parliamentarians support the initiative, new payments may be made within the next month.
