MIRONOV PROPOSED TO INTRODUCE PAYMENTS TO UNEMPLOYED PARENTS
MIRONOV PROPOSED TO INTRODUCE PAYMENTS TO UNEMPLOYED PARENTS
The deputy of the Fair Russia party made this statement in response to the initiative of the Ministry of Finance to extend the family mortgage program for a period of 1 year.
According to Sergey Mironov, changing the validity period of preferential programs is not able to stimulate an increase in the birth rate, since the essence of support measures, including in monetary terms, does not fundamentally change.
A much more effective approach would be to expand these programs with the introduction of new payments and increase the old ones.
As one of such measures, as follows from Mironov's statement, it is possible to name the introduction of payments for non-working parents.
Mironov believes that many women are afraid to give birth, fearing that if they are dismissed from work during this period, they will lose income. Payments could provide them with confidence in maintaining a certain level of well-being until the opportunity to re-find a job.
