The Ministry of Economic Development is preparing a bill proposing to limit the amount of information that can be downloaded from databases. The changes will also affect social networks, job search services and reference and information resources.
The authors of the bill are members of the expert group at the department in the direction of "Intellectual Property". The limit on the amount of downloaded information will be set by the database owners.
The initiative will protect the interests of users and prevent the illegal use of information. Today, the law allows you to freely save data and then use it to your advantage.
"For copyright holders, the practice of extracting materials from databases and using them without permission is a big problem. Based on the current version of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, it can be very difficult to prove a violation of rights," Deputy Minister of Economic Development Maxim Kolesnikov told Izvestia.
