THE MINISTRY OF LABOR WILL LEGITIMIZE THE REMOTE WORK
THE MINISTRY OF LABOR WILL LEGITIMIZE THE REMOTE WORK
The Minister of Labor Anton Kotyakov stated that the department is developing an initiative, in accordance with which the procedure for performing remote work will be regulated. This is necessary in order to legitimize the current type of labor relations and establish guarantees for workers and employers.
On the air of the Pozner program, Kotyakov said that under the circumstances of coronavirus, a lot of Russians turned to the remote work and other flexible forms of employment. This activity needs to be officially regulated so that people could have a stable income.
The head of the Ministry of Labor noted that the department would come up with this initiative in the nearest future. We should recall that according to the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center, 60% of Russians who turned to a remote work regime, did not like the new format of work. First of all, people are not satisfied with the lack of social contacts. What is more, the survey participants reported that it is difficult for them to concentrate at home, and there are problems with the computer and the Internet, as well as with the organization of personal working space. In addition, for many people, the amount of work in remote regime has significantly increased.
At the same time, 36% of Russians have positively responded to the new schedule, noting that it saves a lot of time, which is usually taken by the way to work. If we believe the statistics, not so many Russians switched to a remote working - about 2% worked from home before the coronavirus, and now there are 16% of people working remotely. But for almost a third of working residents of the Russian Federation, nothing has changed - they still go to work as they did before.
