Governors will have a right to be elected for two consecutive terms
The corresponding bill was submitted to the State Duma on September 27.  If it is adopted, the two-term limit for governors will be abolished.

According to RIA Novosti, the initiative was announced by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation Andrei Klishas and the deputy Pavel Krashennikov.  It is assumed that following the president, the governors will also be able to be elected for several consecutive terms.
According to the authors, the bill will improve the quality of life of Russians.
This is due to the fact that the initiative is aimed at consolidating the mechanisms for the effective implementation of the authorities' powers.  In addition, the project implements constitutional provisions on a unified system of public authority.

Separately, it should be noted that if the bill is adopted, the governors will be renamed as heads of regions.  Thus, it is proposed to create a common title of the position for all regions of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the deputies will consider a bill that provides more grounds for the premature termination of the governors' work due to the loss of trust of the President of the Russian Federation.
