FREE-OF-CHARGE DENTAL INSURANCE MAY APPEAR IN RUSSIA
Russian Party of Pensioners for Social Justice announced an initiative to introduce free-of-charge dental insurance in Russia. First, it was proposed to introduce it for children, pensioners and other socially unprotected categories, and then extend it to other Russians. The relevant bill is currently being drafted.
The key reason why the members of party tackled the problem was disappointing statistics, according to which more than half of Russians are unable to pay for the dental crowns or implants after tooth extraction.
According to the chairman of the party, Vladimir Burakov, the healthcare system is not ready for high-quality treatment of Russians, and the optimization results are deplorable.
Compared to last year, the mortality rate has also increased - the figure has grown by 200 thousand people.
Arguing in favor of the new insurance system, the party's supporter, Honored Doctor of Russia Eric Prazdnikov, cited Finland as an example, where the program of state dental insurance has already been introduced and is operating. During this time, the number of teeth removed has dropped sharply, and the system has shown its effectiveness.
In substantiating his position, Prazdnikov also cited data from a study conducted in Russia. According to the results obtained, 40% of the population of our country does not have half of the teeth, and the number of completely toothless citizens reaches 14%.
