DEPUTIES PROPOSED TO EXTEND THE NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS FOR TWO WEEKS

The “Communists of Russia” party came up with a corresponding initiative. In the document sent to the government, they proposed to extend the period of the New Year holidays until January 24.

The deputies believe that the extension of the vacation is a measure to combat the spread of the coronavirus. As it was reported by "RIA Novosti", the chairman of the party Maksim Suraykin proposed to pay for additional days off as for the workdays, by analogy with the spring experience.

According to the current government decree, the New Year holidays in 2021 will last from January 1 to 10.

The "Communists of Russia" are confident that the extension of the holidays will help to protect the population and avoid the problem of overcrowded hospitals. It is also assumed that by means of this, the spread of the coronavirus will be slowed down, and the authorities will have more time to introduce the vaccine.

The deputies also recalled the payments from the budget, which might smooth the situation and provide Russians with a decent standard of living during the next unplanned "vacation". It is interesting that the party also noted a useful aspect of the extra weekend – according to them, it is a good opportunity for citizens to spend time with their families, do home repairs and start self-education.
