DEPUTIES FROM ST.PETERSBURG PROPOSED TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PETS IN APARTMENTS
The day before, parliamentarians of the Legislative Assembly of the northern capital took an initiative to limit the number of cats and dogs living in one living space. The reason for such measures was the reports that sometimes entire animal shelters are organized in apartments, which does not suit the neighbors.

The chairman of the Regional Parliament's Committee on Legislation Denis Chetyrbok has already stated that the concept of the initiative is clearly formulated and the first thing that is important to solve within the framework of its implementation is to close the possibility of organizing shelters in apartments, reports the Parlamentskaya newspaper.

It is worth noting that the organization of the life of a large number of animals on one living space can be both charitable and commercial in nature.

There is a known case when the owner kept 62 husky dogs on 55 square meters. At the same time, the neighbors, who were tormented by both the sounds and the smells of the formed flock, could not do anything, since there are simply no legal mechanisms for solving such a problem.

In addition, sometimes animals are left to live in apartments completely alone. A person just comes to feed and clean up after the "tenants", and the rest of the time they are left to themselves.

At the moment, work on the initiative is already underway, parliamentarians will have to establish from what criteria the calculation of the permissible number of cats and dogs will be made. They can be, in particular, the area or type of housing.
