DEPUTIES ARE WORKING ON A NEW MATERNITY BENEFITS DRAFT LAW
The day before, it became known that the representatives of A Just Russia party are developing a new draft law. The document concerns additional payments to mothers, whose children have not yet reached the age of 18.
The payment is proposed to be made monthly.
According to the deputy of the party Oleg Shein, the initiative caused a resonance, but a number of parliamentarians have already expressed their agreement with the new measure. The National Parents' Committee also supported the initiative.
The deputy recalled that it was A Just Russia party that initiated the procedure for paying maternity capital 15 years ago and then this idea was also received ambiguously. Shein also recalled that the practice of wages for mothers had already shown good results in France, where some time ago the state policy was aimed at the increase of the birth rate.
Now the country has four children for every four French adults. In Russia, the similar statistics show only three children.
It should be noted that earlier Oleg Shein had already voiced this idea in one of his interviews. According to him, the measure with the provision of benefits for mothers will help to increase the birth rate. The deputy also noted the need to provide assistance to families who find themselves in difficult life situations.
