COVID-19 VACCINATIONS MAY BECOME MANDATORY IN RUSSIA
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev announced a possible change in the status of Covid-19 vaccinations from voluntary to mandatory. He noted that it was necessary to take into account the interests of the majority of the population.
According to RIA Novosti, Medvedev spoke about the situation with vaccinations at a plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum. He stated that vaccinations were voluntary, but in some cases, it was necessary to make them mandatory.
Medvedev noted that vaccination against coronavirus may become mandatory.
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council clarified that in this case, it would be necessary to study the question of the proportionality of values, since on the one hand, there is one life, and on the other, the entire population of the country. Medvedev believes that this issue needs to be considered by both lawyers and ordinary citizens in order to give a logical answer.
As of May 19, 7,920 new cases of covid disease were recorded in 84 regions of Russia. There are 390 lethal outcomes and 9 561 fully recovered citizens.
