CHILDREN OF THE RUSSIAN NATIONAL GUARD SERVICEMEN WILL RECEIVE BENEFITS WHEN ENTERING THE UNIVERSITY
The draft law proposed by the United Russia party deputies, allowing the children of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard to receive certain benefits related to entering the universities, found support in the Government. We are talking about an amendment to Article 71 of the Law "On Education", which will allow new categories of applicants to enter specialized higher educational institutions on a preferential basis.

The draft law was prepared back in December last year.

The document contains a provision on the pre-emptive right of a number of applicants to enter universities that are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Guard.

According to its authors, the normative act is intended to eliminate the existing injustice.
The fact is that at the moment, only children of the military have the right to preferential admission to specialized universities. Under the new law, in order to receive benefits, it will be enough to be a child of an employee of the Russian Guard or the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Council of Ministers supported the idea, but pointed out the need to finalize the draft law. In particular, in the current edition, the twenty-year term of service of the parents of potential students applies only to the National Guard servicemen, but, in the opinion of members of the Government, it should be extended for the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
