BANKS WILL INTRODUCE A COMISSION FOR THE ACCOUNTS IN EURO

There is information that banks will introduce commissions for the clients who have accounts in euro. This measure is planned to be introduced due to the negative rates of the ECB, the rates of euro and the crisis caused by coronavirus.

Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank and the Saint Petersburg Bank have already announced the introduction of the new commission, reports Izvestia newspaper. At the same time, analysts believe that other banks will join the initiative in the nearest future.

From August 1, Gazprombank takes 300 rubles for servicing an account in euro, if there were no receipts or expenses of funds over the last year.

At the same time, the bank will not require the commission if there is no money on the euro account or if the amount is not more than 20 euros. The clients who have salary cards and some other products in Gazprombank will not have to pay any commission as well.

The Saint Petersburg bank has introduced a commission on August 17 - it is valid for accounts over 3500 euro. The fee is 0.1% of the account balance. Alfa - Bank will introduce a commission only from September 1 - also 0.1% of the account balance (from 10 to 100 euro). Money will be withdrawn from the accounts with an amount of more than 5,000 euro for regular customers and 50,000 euro for premium customers.

The experts note that despite the introduction of the commission, the Russians will not abandon their euro accounts, as they are concerned about the instability of ruble and are trying to save their money.
