UK TOUR OPERATORS FACE WAVE OF BANKRUPTCIES
Several companies in the UK have announced their withdrawal from the Travel Trust association.  This organization monitors and controls whether the travel companies comply with the regulations established in the United Kingdom.

Truly Travel, known under the Teletext Holidays trademark, announced that from October 29 it would terminate its membership in the profile association, and that bookings would be transferred to TTA Travel, which has the necessary ATOL license (Air Travel Organiser's License - an analogue of insurance for returning the tourists that are ’stuck’ abroad home).
Considering that Truly Travel has a £ 7 million debt to customers, the desire of citizens to return the money is quite justified.
Back in October, some of them applied to court with a claim for compensation, and officials from the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority, the state agency for control over competition) began to conduct their investigation.

The situation is even worse with another tour operator, Alpha Holidays.  The firm announced the actual liquidation.  The previous website alpharooms.com has posted a message that the booking obligations will not be fulfilled.  Customers who have previously booked trips are encouraged to contact the dedicated website alphaholidays.traveltrust.co.uk with requests for financial reimbursement by filing in an application form.

According to the portal tourprom.ru, the losses of the two tour operators are not the only ones in the UK tourism market.  Earlier, the British firm Cheap Cost Holidays has announced the termination of its activities.  The firm has been selling cheap tours under various brands since 2015.
Experts note that the similar processes in the outbound tourism market are taking place in Russia.
Recently, 17 companies have been struck off from the register by the Federal Agency of Tourism of Russia - most of them did not manage to receive financial guarantees and only two were liquidated on their own will.
