THE ROSTOV MEAT PRODUCER BECAME BANKRUPT
The meat-processing complex (MPC) "Donskoy", located in Rostov-on-Don, officially became bankrupt (case no. A53-6766/2023). By May 30, 2024, the court entered bankruptcy proceedings on the IPC. Mikhail Gorchakov, representing the Union of AU SRO "Northern Capital", was approved for the role of bankruptcy trustee.
The company has existed in the region since December 2012, engaged in meat processing and the manufacture of canned meat. The plant has been unprofitable for the last few years. In 2021, the net loss amounted to 3.2 million rubles, and in 2022 – 22.1 million rubles. The company's revenue, according to RBC, reached 394.1 million last year.
In 2021, an inspection of the company by Rosselkhoznadzor employees showed that the plant's meat products contain the genome of African swine fever (ASF). The recipient of the products was one of the correctional institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Ufa.
As the agency reported, the animal carcasses had veterinary stamps received from an organization from the Belgorod region. The products were delivered to the correctional colony through an intermediary Stavropol company.
Production certificates indicated that the IPC had similarly put into circulation more than 16 tons of pig products, whose origin could not be determined. All the documents had the signature of the same veterinarian of the Rostov City SBBZH (GBU RO).
The initiator of the bankruptcy of the IPC was Sberbank of Russia (PJSC), which filed for insolvency of the company in early March 2023. According to court materials, the basis was the loan contracts dated April 15, 2021 and January 28, 2022. The guarantor for one of them was the owner of the company.
At the end of June 2023, the MPK "Donskoy" was taken under surveillance. It was reported that as of April 14, the company's obligations to the creditor amounted to more than 5.88 million rubles. As a result, the court included the main debt (over 5.4 million) in the third stage of the register of creditors' claims. The arbitration also ruled on a separate accounting of the penalty in the amount of more than 487.8 thousand.
