THE RECONSTRUCTOR OF THE FAMOUS BRIDGE IN OREL BECAME BANKRUPT
In the Belgorod Region, the Remspetsmost company became insolvent (case no. A08-11682/2021). The company, which previously participated in the reconstruction of the Red Bridge in Orel, went into receivership with a debt of 210 million. The court instructed Dmitry Sentishchev, representing the association of AU "Eurasia", to manage the bankruptcy procedure, which should last six months.

The initial claim for bankruptcy of the bridge-building organization was filed by the Metallprom company. The amount of claims amounted to about 3.8 million rubles. The application was filed last year, and already in April 2022, the arbitration decided to switch to the monitoring procedure.

The firm became famous in connection with the construction of a bridge across the Oka connecting two central streets of the Eagle. The tender for reconstruction was announced as part of the national project. It was assumed that the structure would be expanded by 5.5 meters. The contract was calculated until the end of 2022. Instead of the initial cost of the project of 1.49 billion, the organization expressed its readiness to carry out reconstruction for 1.42 billion.

In 2021, the company's management began to be suspected of fraud and forgery of documents. The police detained the head of the company Evgeny Podrezov. In August, the court sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison. The manager, accused of embezzling 76 million rubles, was sent to a correctional colony of general regime.

The court also recognized that one-day firms, municipal and regional officials, as well as the founder of Remspetsmost, Alexander Molchanov, participated in the theft of the allocated funds. The owner of the company was put on the wanted list on suspicion of embezzlement of 179 million rubles. The contract concluded with the organization was eventually terminated last fall.

The bridge, which became "Red" after the Bolsheviks came to power (before that it was called "Mariinsky"), was built in the late 1870s by engineer Lebedinsky. In 1943, the building was blown up by retreating troops of Nazi Germany. In 1950, the bridge was restored, completely replacing the load-bearing spans.
