THE OLDEST TROLLEYBUS PLANT OF ENGELS GOES BANKRUPT
The Arbitration Court of the Saratov Region made a decision to introduce a monitoring procedure in relation to Trolza CJSC.  The decision was issued two years after the bankruptcy had been initiated by the first creditor.  The results of the first stage of insolvency will be considered by the court at the end of June.

The initiator of the bankruptcy of the enterprise was BM-Bank JSC, the amount of debt to which turned out to be over 700 million rubles. At the same time, the debtor did not object to the initiation of proceedings, but only made a proposal to appoint another bankruptcy trustee.

It is curious that a month before this, the tax authority also initiated the insolvency procedure of the plant, but subsequently did not support its claims.

The history of the enterprise began in the middle of the 18th century - various products had been produced by the assembly line for several centuries, including agricultural implements and even bombs.

However, in the early 90s, the enterprise was finally formed as a manufacturer of trolleybuses and became the largest in Russia.

Trolza CJSC acted as a supplier of environmentally friendly transport to more than 90 cities of the Russian Federation and even Latin America. But now it has faced bankruptcy.

It should be noted that the observation procedure introduced the day before is not the first attempt of creditors to bankrupt the enterprise. Earlier, the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region ruled to recover the debt on the loan.

The initiator then was the "Russia" bank. The situation took place against the backdrop of a difficult financial situation at the enterprise, as well as the detention of the CEO of company on suspicion of corruption. Then the plant continued to work, but whether it will get out of the debt hole now, one can only guess (case ¹ A57-1599 / 2020).
