THE FORMER OWNER OF THE ALATYR SHOPPING CENTER IN YEKATERINBURG WILL BE BANKRUPTED BY GAZPROMBANK
The plaintiff demands more than 3.93 billion rubles from the defendant.

The statement on the insolvency of the Amber company was submitted to the Sverdlovsk arbitration from Gazprombank. The credit institution demands more than 3.93 billion rubles from the defendant. The reason for the appeal was a loan received by the company in 2013. The money was needed to pay off the debt to another bank. In 2009, the company received a loan from Raiffeisenbank for the construction of the Alatyr shopping center in the center of Yekaterinburg.

In 2020, payments under the agreement signed with Gazprombank stopped. The owners sold the company "Amber" to the capital firm "L-finance". And in September 2022, information appeared about plans to eliminate it. This, according to experts, became the basis for the bank to go to court.

Until November 2020, Amber was under the control of Sergei Trofimov's family. The entrepreneur is known as the main owner of the TEN-Developent Group of Companies, which invested in the construction of the shopping center.

Amber's revenue decreased by 77% last year and amounted to 74 million rubles. The firm ended the fiscal year with a net loss of 3.1 million. At the same time, the value of the company's assets is estimated at 2.9 billion (almost 37% less than in 2020).

Currently, the shopping center "Alatyr" is under the control of the company "Asteria". It, in turn, is managed by the Gazprombank-Persey mutual investment fund. A subsidiary of the bank took ownership of it in September 2020. Separate premises in the building were still owned by Amber until March 2021, but then they also passed to a new owner.

According to experts, Gazprombank's claim complies with the requirements of the legislation in respect of enterprises that are in the process of liquidation. Now the arbitration court will have to determine whether this is an attempt to implement a "controlled" bankruptcy. If the court finds the claim justified, Amber will be declared bankrupt in a simplified manner.
