THE BANKRUPT "REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT BANK" WILL BANKRUPT THE EX-PRESIDENT

The court received an application for bankruptcy of Viktor Taranovsky. The initiator of the process against the former president of the credit institution was the bank itself, which was deprived of its license in 2015. A similar lawsuit was filed by the Regional Development Bank (RDB) against his wife Tatiana, also a former member of the bank's board.

In the fall of 2015, the debts of the RBR exceeded 5.35 billion rubles and in December the bank was declared insolvent. Top managers of the bank (9 ex-members of the management board) in 2019 received the status of subsidiary defendants in the debts of the organization. The result was the seizure of their property, imposed on the initiative of the DIA (Deposit Insurance Agency).

The amount of their liability exceeded 1.5 billion rubles.

In particular, the fleet of top manager Vyacheslav Potapov, including six BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus cars, was arrested. Board member Oksana Mirenkova was arrested not only a house in the Moscow region and a luxury car, but also three apartments on Rublevsky Highway. Viktor Taranovsky's wife lost the opportunity to manage a metropolitan apartment, nine plots of land in the Moscow region and money in 8 bank accounts.

The court also deprived the main person involved in the bankruptcy case of the RBR of the opportunity to withdraw money from 17 accounts in various credit institutions. In the summer of 2016, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation appealed to law enforcement agencies with a statement about the theft of bank property by Viktor Taranovsky. Two years later, the DIA sent a similar application to the authorities.

In January 2020, the RF IC initiated a fraud case, which was later reclassified as a particularly large embezzlement (part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The verdict on his arrest in absentia was adopted by the Basmanny District Court. It is unknown where Taranovsky is hiding now.
