The authorities of the city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, located on the shore of the Sea of Azov, have achieved the introduction of a monitoring procedure for the Akhtar Sturgeon Plant. The city administration applied to the arbitration court with the initiative in December 2022. The total amount of claims against the company amounted to 5.9 million rubles.

The basis for the claim was the debts of the plant for rent, which arose over many years. The company owed 3.73 million for the period from September 2009 to March 2017, Kommersant clarifies. The authorities also demanded payment of penalties starting from November 16, 2009 and up to the end of 2021. Its amount was 2.24 million. Both requirements were included by the court in the third stage of the register.

It is known that the company was registered in 2008. However, the plant itself, according to local media, has existed in Primorsko-Akhtarsk since 1925.

The firm has not publicly disclosed its financial activities for the past five years. The city administration achieved the collection of rent debts back in March 2022. The management of the plant could not voluntarily pay the debts. The court appointed Konstantin Basalko as a temporary manager at the enterprise. He must submit a report by September 11, 2023.
