RECORD NUMBER OF COMPANIES WENT BANKRUPT IN FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2021

Compared to the same period last year, almost 81% of enterprises and farms have closed. This is a record number in the past six years.

According to the official information of the Federal Tax Service, almost 800 thousand individual entrepreneurs have announced the termination of their activities. This figure is an anti-record since 2013.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 500 thousand individual entrepreneurs and farms have announced the termination of their activities. In most cases, this is the owner's own decision. Others were excluded from the state resource as inoperative - there are over 250 thousand of them.

This figure includes those who have not filed tax returns for 15 months, as well as those who have not renewed their patents.

This year, 81% of enterprises went bankrupt, compared to the same period of 2020. Over 170 thousand legal entities were closed. More than 134 thousand have left the state register due to the decision of the registering authorities. Compared with the statistics of 2019, the number of legal entities that announced liquidation decreased by 22.3%. So, the statistics were mostly supplemented by individual entrepreneurs and farms.

In April last year, when our country reached a plateau in the incidence of coronavirus, an anti-record was recorded in the creation of new enterprises. There has not been such a low figure for the last 15 years. A third of companies that have been closed were attributed to the wholesale trade.

According to a survey conducted by the Oprosso online service, over 50% of entrepreneurs are now expecting a lockdown.

They know how to act in part thanks to the last year's experience. Almost 48% of entrepreneurs left some of their employees working online even after the restrictions were lifted.
