KHARKIV FACTORY OF TRANSPORTATION AND MACHINE BUILDING IS ON THE VERGE OF BANKRUPTCY
Kharkiv factory of transportation and machine building named after V.A. Malyshev has not paid wages to its employees for several months. Every day, labor relations with the plant are terminated by about 10 people, according to the reports of the Ukrainian media. At the same time, the employees of the defense enterprise themselves blame the authorities for the current situation, demanding their early resignation.

The legendary enterprise, which was founded at the end of the 19th century and became one of the largest in the Soviet Union in the production of armored vehicles, is on the verge of bankruptcy. Experts note that in 2018, the plant's profitability was about 2 billion hryvnias (5.5 billion rubles).

Revenue figures in 2019 decreased to UAH 500 million (RUB 1.4 billion).

In 2021, the Ukrainian state ordered the plant to manufacture only one tank of the Oplot model, which is supposed to be used in the August parade on the occasion of the Independence Day.

If in May 2019 the workers of the plant were still able to go to a rally in support of their CEO, then in February 2021 it turned out that there was no money to pay the salaries, and the company itself was looking for a new leader.

Since 2009, the plant has supplied only one tank to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Experts say that the reason for the ruin of the company is the change in the market situation in a number of foreign countries that were major customers of the company's products. In particular, in March 2018, the factory fulfilled the terms of the deal, having supplied 49 Oplot tanks to Thailand, the total value of the contract was $ 240 million.

Pakistan was another important partner of the plant. However, China gradually took the place of the main supplier instead of Ukraine. As a result, revenues began to decline, while gas debts increased. According to experts, one day of work of the factory costs two million hryvnias, regardless of whether the enterprise produces some kind of product or not.
