INTERREGIONAL RAILWAY BUILDER DECLARED BANKRUPT
The Belkomur company was declared insolvent. The arbitration of the Komi Republic considered the bankruptcy claim of the enterprise in a simplified manner. The founders decided to liquidate the legal entity in December 2022. At the same time, the fate of the project, for which Belkomur was created in the 1990s, remains unknown.

The project itself, which provides for the construction of a railway track for 1,161 km, was previously included by the authorities in a long-term plan for infrastructure optimization of the Northern Sea Route. The plan was calculated until 2035. It was last updated in 2014. Apparently, the authorities decided to abandon the project due to the need to incur regular costs for updating documents.

Plans to declare the organization bankrupt became known in June 2023. As Rusbankrot wrote, the lawsuit was filed by one of the firms subordinate to the Komi authorities in March 2023. At that time, 13.78 million rubles were demanded from an organization with an authorized capital of over 1.35 billion, local media write. Considering that Belkomur has not conducted any economic activity in recent years, the fate of the enterprise was obvious to many.

At the last hearing in the case (no. A29-2900/2023), the court found the plaintiff's claims justified. The third turn included the principal debt (8,566 million), interest on loans (1,945 million), penalties (almost 3.16 million) and expenses for the payment of state duty (117.3 thousand).

The court relieved Konstantin Rudakov, who headed the liquidation commission, of his duties. The arbitration approved Evgeny Osaulenko, representing the Union of the Self-Regulating Organization of Arbitration Managers of the North-West, for the role of Bankruptcy Trustee
