Foreign partners driving a ‘crab empire’ of Oleg Kan to bankruptcy
The Arbitration Court of Sakhalin announced the introduction of surveillance proceedings at the Kuril Universal Complex (KUC) on September 17. A foreign company C-WORLD Ltd from Hong Kong took over the bankruptcy of the company in mid-July 2021. The amount of the claim reached 2,515,916,560 rubles.

The KUC company is headed by Alexander Kan, the son of Oleg Kan, a well-known businessman from the Far East of Russia. In April, the Hong Kong company collected $ 34.7 million from Kang's company through arbitration (case # À40-55730 / 21-102-469).

The debt arose in connection with the disruption in the supply of a shipment of crabs.

C-WORLD made an advance payment for it in full in the amount of $ 31.5 million. However, the company did not receive either the crab or its own money back.

The circumstances of the bankruptcy process are very reminiscent of the bankruptcy lawsuit against the Moneron company, which was the part of Oleg Kan’s empire. Rusbankrot has previously written about this case. It should be reminded that the Singapore company OSPREY NETWORKS PTE Ltd. filed a lawsuit against ‘Moneron’ in May this year - Moneron owed more than 1.9 billion rubles to the company.

Its former leader, the Sakhalin MP Dmitry Pashov, was arrested at the end of February. The trial of the court in this case (¹ À59-2728 / 2021) has been postponed several times. An online hearing on it is to take place on September 27.

Oleg Kan himself is currently hiding from justice.

After the arrest of Pashov, Moneron was headed by Sergei Dovidovich. He is connected with the Kan family by the Native Islands charitable foundation - Dovidovich is the executive director, and Alexander Kan is the president of the fund.
