ESCULAP PLANT OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY
ESCULAP PLANT OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY
Esculap LLC, which produced medical syringes and bandages, was officially declared bankrupt. The bankruptcy proceedings will be headed by Evgeny Zhuikov, representing Severnaya Stolitsa SRO.
The company's debt is 186.6 million rubles.
The initiator of the bankruptcy was a credit institution (Peresvet CB PJSC). Last December, Esculap came under surveillance. In addition to debts to the bank, the register of creditors' claims also included Esculap's obligations to the heat supply organization and the tax service.
Representatives of the Federal Tax Service have previously had claims against the organization, making attempts to declare the company bankrupt. In particular, a statement from the Federal Tax Service came to the court in the fall of 2019. The total debt of the organization to the treasury, as it turned out, exceeded 120 million rubles, although the claim of the Federal Tax Service itself indicated a much smaller amount (6.6 million rubles), which the company could not repay in three months.
Last summer, the owners of the company managed to settle the conflict with the tax authorities by closing part of the debt at the expense of the Yubileiny agricultural complex they owned. However, even then, experts pointed to the reputational risks that a bankruptcy claim from the Federal Tax Service could bring to the company.
Esculap Company has existed since 1993, specializing in the production of equipment and medical instruments.
The company is owned by the Bukin family, and Valery Bukin owns the bulk (58%) of the company, and the other two are distributed between his wife Tamara and son Yevgeny. It is known that the beneficiaries of Esculap are also engaged in greenhouses, have stakes in the insurance business (Rosmedstrakh-K) and a number of other companies (Esculap-Pharm, Esculap-Trade").
