DENMARK AND SWEDEN SAVED «SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINES» FROM BANKRUPTCY
One of the largest air carriers in Northern Europe, the “Scandinavian Airlines”, was on the verge of bankruptcy just a few days ago. It happened due to the restrictions, imposed amid a pandemic.

The demand for tickets fell sharply, and the company management was forced to lay off a large number of its employees. But a few days ago, the Swedish news service Sveriges Radio reported that the authorities of Denmark and Sweden, having joined their forces, decided to support the “air giant” and save SAS from bankruptcy.

The representatives of the airline informed the media about the signed agreement, according to which the company will be provided with a loan of $ 330 million for a period of 3 years.

The leaders of Sweden and Denmark accompanied the loan with all the necessary guarantees. Thorbjorn Vist, CEO of Scandinavian Airlines, commented on the agreement, saying that the company is working hard to reduce åðó financial costs. He also noted that at the time when numerous aircraft have no chance to fly, this agreement will be able to increase the financial flexibility of the airline.

We should note that on the part of the Danish and Swedish authorities, the new loan for SAS is guaranteed by 90%. The governments of both states are ready to take responsibility for paying the loan.
