COMPANY MANAGING THE ASSETS OF FURGAL FAMILY GOES BANKRUPT
The ‘Scrap Far East’ company has been recently declared bankrupt by the Regional arbitration court of Khabarovsk. It managed two legal entities with the assets of ex-governor Sergei Furgal and his wife. The debts of the organization are more than 497.126 million rubles.
The claim was filed by MSP Bank. The bankruptcy proceedings, which the court instructed to be led by Albina Rozhneva (who represents the North-West SRO), is scheduled to run until January 17th.
We should remind our readers that in July 2020, the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory was accused of murders that happened in 2004-2005 in the Far East of Russia.
Prior to that, in November 2019, Nikolai Mistryukov, Furgal's business partner, was detained on a similar charge.
After Furgal left office, the former governor's financial empire was attacked by lawsuits from the former partners and credit institutions. The ‘Alguma’ and ‘Dalpromsnab’ companies, the assets of which Furgal shared with Mistryukov and Pavel Balsky, fell into the trust management of Skrap Far East during his governorship. Moreover, all shares on the loan received from the Moscow company ‘Armada’ have been pledged since 2017.
The information about the pledge was made public soon after the Furgal's arrest.
His wife also owns stakes in several companies operating in the scrap metal collection market. All of the abovementioned persons, including the representatives of Armada company, appear among its partners. In total, creditors demand about 1 billion rubles from the companies of Furgal family.
