Cisco, an international company engaged in the development of computer programs and network equipment, announced the liquidation of a legal entity in the Russian Federation. The decision was made in June 2023. The liquidated structure (Cisco Systems) carried out equipment maintenance.

Another Cisco division (Cisco Solutions), which was engaged in the distribution of telecommunications equipment, is officially operating. Its revenue in 2022 decreased by 84% compared to the previous year, falling to 5.15 billion rubles. The firm suffered losses of 3.67 billion last year.

Cisco Systems Inc. has been in existence since 1984. The corporation specializes in digital technologies (cloud computing, backbone routing, etc.). In the spring of 2022, the head office announced that it was suspending trade in Russia. In June 2022, information appeared about the company's plans to close its business and leave the domestic market.

In 2022, both legal entities in the Russian Federation showed 5.5 billion losses. Cisco Systems missed 1.8 billion rubles. The company's revenue decreased to 441.2 million (by 76%).

According to TASS, in January 2023, the organization liquidated its material reserves in the Russian Federation. Their cost amounted to 1.86 billion rubles. The reason for this step was the decision to stop sales, and the decision on disposal itself is dated August 2022. The company's licenses and services were suspended, and the re-export of equipment was impossible.

First of all, the publication reports, operational spare parts for equipment were destroyed. The Russian company acquired them under a contract with Cisco in the Netherlands. The Russian assets of the organization, including transport and office furniture, worth 1 million rubles, were also disposed of.

Cisco Systems terminated the main part of its employment contracts with its staff in the summer of 2022. The number of employees decreased from 60 at the end of 2021 to 5 by the end of 2022. The dismissed employees received payments due by law. The company paid 190.6 million rubles to off-budget funds.
