BANKRUPTCIES HAVE INCREASED BY A THIRD
According to the results of the 2nd quarter of 2022, the Krasnodar Territory "slipped" to the 3rd place in terms of the number of personal bankruptcies in Russia. In the first place - Moscow and the Moscow region.

If in the 1st quarter of this year the Krasnodar Territory became the leader in personal bankruptcies, now the region has only the 3rd place. However, compared to the same period last year, this figure increased by 31.3%.

In the first half of 2022, 3002 people went through the bankruptcy procedure, in 2021 this figure is 2658. According to the results of the second quarter of 2022, the Krasnodar Territory is in 6th place in terms of the number of out-of-court bankruptcy procedures: out of 299 bankruptcy applications filed through the MFC, 229 proceedings have been initiated.

Dmitry Dmitriev, General Director of the UDM Group law firm, noted that judicial bankruptcy has a more predictable result than an out-of-court one. Therefore, citizens, despite the cost of this procedure, are more willing to turn to it. This is evidenced by the statistics. In addition, the level of awareness of citizens on the issue of bankruptcy has significantly increased.

"If earlier people came with a lot of questions and fear, now they are more willing to resort to this process. Many have a positive example from the inner circle. Bankruptcy is the only legal way out of the debt situation, and many appreciate its advantages," Dmitry Dmitriev concluded.

The bankruptcy moratorium, introduced on April 1, 2022, continues to operate, according to which creditors cannot initiate bankruptcy proceedings against their debtors.

The exception is companies that have refused the moratorium. According to Fedresurs, as of June 30, 2022, 18722 companies in Russia refused the moratorium. According to the results of the 1st half of 2022, Krasnodar Krai was on the 4th place in Russia in terms of the number of bankruptcies of legal entities. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2022, at the moment there are fewer bankruptcies of legal entities: 93 and 85, respectively. However, compared to the same period last year, there were 6.6% more bankruptcies of legal entities: if from January to July 2021, 167 companies became bankrupt, then in 2022 - 178.

"The consequences of the imposed moratorium are felt in statistical indicators. Creditors do not initiate the procedure, and the enterprises themselves begin their bankruptcy. Also, the new data reflect the number of cases, the proceedings for which began before the moratorium was imposed," explains Dmitry Dmitriev.
